Being a caregiver for a loved one or friend can be a rewarding experience. It can also be exhausting, frustrating and lonely. For these, and many other reasons, a Caregiver Support Group is being sponsored by the Pelham Council on Aging and the Alzheimer’s Association.
We know that there are many caregivers in the Pelham area and, if you are one of them, please join us on October 29th at 3 p.m. in the Molly Hobbs Room at the Pelham Public Library. This will be an informational meeting to discuss what interests and concerns caregivers have and how members of this group might support each other, talk through issues and ways of coping, and learn more about how to be effective caregivers. We plan to continue this group on a monthly basis. It will be led by trained facilitators.
